The UExcel Sports Ventures Team firmly believes that India, particularly Bengal, has plethora of talented youth footballers. All they need is the well planned grooming, right training techniques and the platform to showcase their talents. In association with Treble Sports Management, UExcel Sports Ventures planned an ambitious project wherein a reputed Academy Club located in Granada, Southern Spain, conducted a trial for Youth Footballers in the age group of 15+ to U20. The Program was styled – ‘Kolkata Football Tryouts’ and was conducted for a period of 6 weeks from mid of March. Pre Trials were conducted in 2 model districts of West Bengal – Nadia and Purulia and an Open Assessment was conducted in Kolkata. On special request, few select boys participated from Indian Football Association football camp in Basirhat and from the Bengal Football Academy, Khardah.
From a total of nearly 700 aspirants, 160 youth footballers were shortlisted for a 2 day Final Trials in Kolkata on 29th April and 30th April, 2023. The list was further pruned to 60 youth footballers who participated in High Performance Selection on the 30th April. The Elite Selection panel comprising of Miquel Vidal Flores, Head of Scouting – CF Motril and Pro Licence Coach and Sankar Lal Chakraborty, our Mentor and Pro Licence Coach, and our team of the Scouting Head (Level 3), Youth Coaches (AFC Certified) and Physical Trainer finally selected 6 players who would travel for a Pre-Season Camp to Club de Futbol, Motril, Granada, Spain in September this year.
As UExcel Sports Ventures, we feel proud of achieving this unique milestone of bringing a reputed Spanish Academy to India, read Kolkata, to conduct an Advanced Level Scouting for their Youth and potentially in the future Senior Team. Maybe this is one off the first of its kind in this part of the country.
The list of Selected Six – Bishal Sutradhar, Debjit Raut, Aniket Mondal, Maheshwar Singh Sardar, Premangshu Thakur and Arijit Biswas- has made us and India Proud. It will be an Ultimate Achievement for them and an a glorious moment for Indian Football if any of them get selected for Club de Futbol Motril Youth Team.
